Defence Industrialization in Uttar Pradesh: Policy, Progress and Prospects is a edited volume that examines Uttar Pradesh’s emergence as an important strategic hub in India’s defence-manufacturing ecosystem. The book explores the role of progressive state policies, the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC), and national initiatives such as Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India in strengthening indigenous defence production.

Prof. Vinod Kumar Singh is a Senior Professor and Head of the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. He is an experienced academic and researcher in the field of Defence and Strategic Studies, with particular expertise in national security, arms control and disarmament, and Indian military history. With extensive teaching and research experience, he has contributed significantly to the advancement of defence and strategic studies through teaching, research, academic supervision, and scholarly engagement.
Dr. Harshvardhan Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies at the University of Allahabad, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. His academic engagement focuses on defence and strategic studies, with an interest in contemporary issues of national security, strategic affairs, and India’s defence environment. He has been actively involved in teaching, research, and academic activities in the field.
Dr. Smita Singh is an Assistant Professor at Maharana Pratap PG College, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. She is engaged in teaching and academic research and has contributed to scholarly activities in the field of higher education.
